Volunteer at Old Town events

Join us as a volunteer at Friends of Old Town and help support our big community festivals! Whether you love Old Town and local events, or are new to the area and want to connect with what’s going on locally - we have opportunities for everyone. You may already have experience or are looking into learning a new skill - all are welcome!

We are currently looking for volunteers for Old Town Festival key events:

Sunday 1 June, Town Gardens, Event: 12–5pm

Volunteer times:

8:30-10:30 - Set Up Crew - 4-7 people to help with putting up gazebos, tables, chairs

11am-5pm - Event Stewards - 15 people welcoming visitors, giving out maps, and tracking attendance (using very simple clicker on their own mobile phones - we give log in details)

5pm-6pm - Pack Down Crew - 4-7 people

Sunday 8 June, Wood Street, Event: 12–5pm

Volunteer times:

11am–6pm - Event Stewards - 10-12 people, welcoming visitors, giving out maps, and tracking attendance using their mobile phone.

This is a fantastic team-building activity, as well as an opportunity to be part of Swindon’s much loved community celebration, which has been held for over 20 years!

Volunteers will receive:

- A £10 lunch voucher on the day at either of the food stalls, water&snacks

- 1 hour lunch break

- An Old Town Arts Festival T-shirt

- A positive shoutout on social media to thank your business/company/organisation

for their support!
