“The Enchanted Garden” - a children’s storytelling project, in celebration of Swindon’s Town Gardens

We are delighted to be partnering with award-winning children’s author Kate Claxton for this year’s Old Town Arts Festival. As part of the "Grow a Story" project, Kate has co-created with local children “The Enchanted Garden” Story Walk inspired by Swindon’s Town Gardens. In April and May she visited Lethbridge, Lawns, and The Croft primary schools, as well as Badbury Park Library, where children helped shape the story with their ideas and artwork.

Come and meet Kate of Really Rather Wild on 1 June Family Fun Day at the Town Gardens! Make a craft with her, and find out about all the other amazing stories she writes!

You can find her in the workshop area, behind Bowls Club, 12-5 pm.

To find out more about her work and her new book, visit her website, or send her a message on Instagram or Facebook.

Come and see the completed story in the Town Gardens during the Festival week, 1-8 June 2025! You can find it long the path leading from the Bandstand, between the Rose Garden and The Bowl.
